Opportunity to Volunteer

YGL-B Hands on DC Update!
 
Who: YGL-B members and friends/family are welcome to sign up.

What: An opportunity to volunteer at a DC public school and make a positive difference in kids’ lives. Projects include painting classrooms, planting trees, and other “hands-on” projects. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.

Nationals Park and the Navy Yard

You’ve probably heard all about the tremendous clean-up effort around the Navy Yard. This is the area in Southeast DC where you can find Nationals Park.   One of my co-workers pointed me to JD Land, the website of a local resident who covers this “Near Southeast DC Redevelopment” in great detail.

Giving back to the community

The idea behind CleanUpDC.org is simple.
We have several goals:

Develop a common portal for Washington, DC residents to learn about community projects
Empower anyone with motivation to drive service projects within the DC area
Track progress of ongoing projects
Notify locals of community events that make DC a better place to live
